Gopher / Squirrel Control

Northern California has two primary rodents that burrow under the ground in lawns, gardens, golf courts, and yards: the California Ground Squirrel and the Pocket Gopher. They are known for infesting areas leaving holes and sunken tunnels throughout yards. They can not only damage yards, but pose to be a problem for people and animals due to their multiple holes and tunnels throughout the field. Gophers do not just pose a risk to your lawn and landscaping, they can also present a risk to people. Because the ground under the mounds is hollow, you or a family member could step into the hole if you are not careful. The sudden, unexpected drop could jar your foot, ankle, or leg. Those dirt mounds in your lawn not only look bad, but they are also a walking hazard. They have been known to pose major risks to horses, cows, and any other large animals.

Control Methods

We use various methods of control for both ground squirrels and gophers such as traps, baiting, and even carbon monoxide poisoning. After all of our treatments we will cover the holes to determine the effectiveness of the control and the need for retreatments. Most of the time depending upon the method we achieve a very high kill rate. Our first step for treating areas is to do a thorough inspection of the property to determine the method and plan to achieving a successful treatment.

Management

Our initial service consists of coming out to the job site and treating all activity. We offer a 30-day, 90% control guarantee on all treated areas. We offer the 30-day guarantee because we are positive we can remove existing rodents, but there is no way to prevent new squirrels from returning, either through new tunnels or through current tunnel systems. Along with our initial service, we suggest a monthly service, which consists of 2 visits per month. This is essential because it ensures that any new activity is treated before it has a chance to destroy the property. In these treatments, we will visit the site every other week and treat the targeted area.
